Beyond School

Between March 18 and 20, we are preparing a three-day event in the Old Power Station called Beyond School, an international meeting of dance academies from Poland, Hungary, and Croatia, as well as the Slovenian secondary school SVŠGUGL, which runs a contemporary dance program.
Beyond School is part of the international project Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery, of which Bunker is also a part. This project aims to strengthen the field of contemporary dance in the Central European region by connecting and supporting dance actors—artists, producers, festivals, and institutions.

Three academies will present their annual productions at the Old Power Station: Magyar Táncművészeti Egyetem from Budapest, the Academy of Dramatic Art of the University of Zagreb, and Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych from Krakow. Before the performances, representatives of the academies will be available in the lobby of the Old Power Station to provide information on study options and the program orientations of their academies.
Part of the public program will also be the dance performance by Maciej Kuźmiński: Four Seasons, which was co-produced by the partners of Beyond Front@, and the Audience Council – a discussion about the performance moderated by the critic Jaka Bombač.
