Klovnbuf: Tolpa: Old & Bold
Old and Bold — the infamous troupe of oldsters is presenting their ultimate, glamorous, spectacular, and utterly unforgettable variety show. Though they may be a bit stiff (which is understandable considering their age), they continue to shake the morals of local churchmen with their dance, music, comic, magic, acrobatic and mystical numbers.
Old and Bold offers an insight into the highs and lows of the lives of the elderly, still full of joie de vivre and living in retirement homes. The form of the puppet variety show serves as a platform for the spectators to get a taste of their own future, or to perceive their present differently. With that in mind, the animators interpret peculiar puppet characters, highlighting various themes of old age — the fear of living the final day, making the dreams of youth come true while struggling with the limitations of age, the lifelong pursuit of love which magically materialises, and the infinite longing for missed opportunities, and finding new ones.
Besides all of the above, the Old and Bold are also full of warmth and wisdom, which helps the spectators see their parents, grandparents or themselves in a new light.

Cooky, Nika Gabrovšek, Tea Kovše, Grega Močivnik, Andrej Tomše, Jurij Torkar, Hristina Vasić Tomše, Katja Vravnik and Katarina Zalar – a group of theatre makers joined forces to explore the possibilities of using puppets as one of the basic building blocks of a theatre event. The members of Tolpa [The Gang] have different performing arts backgrounds. They share a wealth of experience in street theatre, physical and participatory theatre, contemporary dance, new circus and puppetry. Their transdisciplinary mixing of genres leads to their creation of unique puppet theatre events aimed primarily at grown-up audiences.
