Betontanc & Umka LV: Show Your Face!

Do you dare to show your face?
The performance Show Your Face is the result of a unique synergy between two exceptional groups—Betontanc from Slovenia and Umka.LV from Latvia. Betontanc are masters of dance, movement, and words, while Umka.LV excel at animating not only puppets but any object that comes into their hands.
The story is led by a mute, childlike puppet that comes to life in the hands of the animators before our very eyes. Through its journey, we travel through history, encounter the present, lose our face, and find it again. Our protagonist longs for individuality, yet this desire remains unfulfilled, as he fears not only showing his face but even looking at it himself. Thus, he remains one of many—one of us, an everyman in this world.

The performance is accompanied and empowered by the extraordinary music of the duo Silence and Latvian saxophonist Ugis Vitins.
