Živa Bizovičar: OPENING OF THE 29TH MLADI LEVI FESTIVAL

This year’s festival flirts with relaxation and slowing down as both a reminder and a counterpoint to the relentless pace of festival life, seeking out the gaps that can be filled with rest and pleasure. A temporary pause before the acceleration of the new season that arrives with September. A deep breath before the battles that lie ahead.
So this year, we are opening the festival with pure indulgence – a celebration, and nothing but a celebration! We invite everyone to join us at the Sports Society Tabor playground, which has become a second home to Mladi levi in recent years, and to enjoy life’s small pleasures: colourful nails and impulsive tattoos (don’t worry – at Bunker we live by the motto “Changing your mind is always an option,” so the tattoos won’t mark you forever). And, of course, we invite you to a concert and dancing late into the night!
Let’s enjoy ourselves while we can. Why not?

8:00 p.m.: A pleasantly laid-back opening
So we’re ready not just for the party, but for the whole festival! A moment to unwind, get yourself sorted, get tattooed and say hello to all your friends.

9:00 p.m.: SMETNAKI, concert
Smetnaki are a music collective from Kranj and Tržič. They don’t stick to any particular genre – instead, they respond to situations in life, from the simple to the downright bizarre. Their music, and especially their lyrics, are marked by humour, more or less hidden beneath layers of irony. They create out of an organic necessity. They play because they love making themselves – and you – dance and sweat.

Gal Grobovšek – tenor sax, vocals
Žan Škrjanec – trombone
Anže Balantič – trumpet
Anže Podobnik – drums
Amadei Šaršanski – bass guitar
Rok Valjavec – electric guitar

10:00 p.m.: DJ duo notsoYoung Sanci
Papi Promaja & Mili Khumara a.k.a. notsoYoung Sanci

Let’s create a safe and inclusive party for everyone!

1. Look out for one another.
The party is a space for everyone. If you notice someone around you needs help because of excessive drinking, harassment or discrimination, please turn to the festival staff or the Rejv utopija team.

2. Consent is key.
In all interactions, check whether the other person wants to engage and respect their answer. It’s important to be aware of the space we occupy and to respect other people’s personal space.

3. Respect and acceptance.
Everyone is welcome, but there is no room for violence or discrimination, including racism, sexism and homophobia.

4. Ask for help!
The Rejv utopija awareness team will be with us and can offer support to anyone who has experienced or witnessed sexual harassment, violence or discrimination. You can recognise the team by their pink reflective bands.
