Memory and vision can sometimes be surprisingly similar — both are like images in the mind, so vivid that one can replace one with the other. While one draws from the past, the other opens toward the future. Yet both arise in the same space: the inner world of images, sensations, and meanings.
The imagination of memory or the imagination of vision — perhaps it is in fact the same movement, a constant shifting along the axis of time, back and forth. Memory is not entirely fixed, and vision is not entirely new. Both are intertwined, both are changing, both shape our sense of who we are.
Where we are and where we are going.
This is not only a question of space, but of time — between what has already been lived and what has not yet been spoken.
Five solos as a walk along a timeline: five women, five stages of life, five roles, and five inner landscapes. Each stands at their point between memory and vision.
Five musical pieces, originating from different years in the period 2005–2025, composed by Christopher Benstead, create the sonic framework of this journey.
Each solo is created between what has been and what could be. Together, they form a map of transitions, transformations, and a quiet question that remains open:
What of carried within us is already the past — and what is coming into being?
