Danilo Ženko is a renowned sound engineer, producer, and musician, both in Slovenia and abroad. He has collaborated with many acclaimed artists, including Zoran Predin, Ray Charles, Laibach, and Siddharta. He also teaches sound engineering at the B.A.S.E. Sound Engineering School.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the principles of acoustics, sound design, and the technical aspects of theatre sound. They will learn how to capture the perfect tone on stage, fine-tune every detail, and create an immersive theatre experience through sound—whether it be loud and grand or soft and delicate. Participants will also have the opportunity to assist professional sound engineers during performances at the Drugajanje festival.
The workshop is free of charge and is intended for students of II. Gimnazija Maribor who are interested in sound and lighting design in theatre. It is also open to other aspiring sound designers, lighting technicians, and technical enthusiasts eager to expand their knowledge. TECHNICAL WORKSHOP: LIGHTING DESIGN IN THEATRE

Led by: Andrej Hajdinjak & Jernej Guštin
Andrej Hajdinjak is one of the most renowned lighting designers in Slovenia. He has worked on over a hundred theatre, dance, ballet, and opera productions both locally and internationally. His work has earned him the prestigious Borštnik Award. As a true master of lighting, he will introduce participants to the fundamentals of stage lighting, from simple lighting setups to more complex designs.
Part of the workshop will also be led by Jernej Guštin, an experienced lighting designer specializing in concert and theatre lighting. With extensive technical expertise and knowledge of the latest lighting technologies, he will showcase some of the newest innovations in the field.
This practical workshop will allow participants to experiment with different types of theatre lighting and see firsthand how various effects can be achieved. They will also have the opportunity to assist professional lighting designers during performances at the Drugajanje festival.
The workshop is free of charge and is intended for students of II. Gimnazija Maribor who are interested in theatre lighting and sound design. It is also open to other aspiring lighting designers, sound technicians, and technical professionals eager to deepen their understanding of the field.
