Škart & Blok B (rebellious pensioners): DISAPPEARING IN TIME
Last year, the Škart duo (Dragan Protić – Prota and Đorđe Balmazović – Žole), held a workshop with a group of retirees from the Ljubljana Centre Retirement Home and Bunker’s producer Klara Drnovšek Solina, entitled NONpractical wOmeN.
The workshop delved into the thoughts of the participants and collected the spicy ingenuities in a booklet of poems and short notes on napkins. Meetings over coffee, a key part of the creative methodology, went beyond the time frame of the workshop and spilled over into the whole year. They drank countless cappuccinos and juices and exchanged opinions on everything – politics, life, dogs, society and age, and decided to continue working with the Mladi Levi.
This year, Škart, the pensioners and Bunker gathered again at the Mladi Levi for a workshop, this time dedicated to environmental issues – endangered bird species. The working methodology still includes drinking coffee together, as well as a visit to the Ljubljana Marshes and a meeting with the experts from DOPPS – Birdlife Slovenia. A mural will be created on the wall of the Ljubljana Centre Retirement Home, which will remind us of the beauty of birds and the beauty of daily gatherings that are disappearing in time.
