A first-hand, somatic experience of degrowth, shaped not by the threat of a future apocalypse, but by the ongoing economic, political, and ecological instability of everyday life. Spiced with the Balkan tradition of underfunding the arts and a dash of humour.
In her artistic exploration, which takes the form of a lecture performance at Mladi levi, Macedonian dancer and choreographer Viktorija Ilioska deals with choreography as the organisation of bodies under pressure. She approaches community, desire, and resilience not as practices of self-optimisation, but as collective perseverance, treating performance as training for a future we are already living.
