Mladi levi: SWEET WORRIES
A genuine Slovenian dessert in the realm of global feminist performance art. In her performance Sweet Worries, Slovenian actress and performer Barbara Kukovec juxtaposes the Slovenian countryside from which she hails with the groundbreaking performances of feminist artists. Seven recipes, seven performances, one Slovenian countryside with many problems, and fifty potica cakes – a commentary, a tease, an honest attempt, but above all a beginning, because Sweet Worries is actually only an appetiser at the Mladi Levi festival. Barbara Kukovec’s performance courses continue with The Art of Living: The Act of Killing, which takes place mostly in the villages of the inspiring Slovenian countryside, and will premiere for the Ljubljana audience in the autumn at the City of Women festival.
Every housewife knows that one has to present a challenging dish with: “It’s not my best work.” But Sweet Worries knows no false modesty and is not fishing for compliments. We’ll say it like it is: the dessert was a success!
