Mladi levi: STINKY CONCERT ON FOUR PAWS
Stinky Concert on Four Paws is a stream of consciousness, noise and slam poetry all at once. A question put to music, written in a heavy poetic language, about growing up and the individual’s capacity within established structures, and about a kind of evolution that, according to unwritten rules, transforms young people in their thirties into adults and domesticates them, much like society has domesticated dogs. At the same time, the performance is a question of where wildness and animal authenticity are disappearing to, and an articulation of the desire to escape from numbness felt by stray dogs and young people who wander the deserted streets of their towns after the tourist season has ended. Alice and Davide Sinigaglia bring onto the stage this desire to break up and shake up the world, and to discover the wild animal in oneself. Both natives of the tourist town of La Spezia, the siblings created the performance while they were walking the deserted streets of their hometown in winter, reflecting on Jacques Derrida’s book The Animal That Therefore I Am. Davide Sinigaglia works as a percussionist and Alice is a theatre director.
Together, they articulated generational anger and powerlessness through a complex poetic language, powerful percussive beats, and a set stripped of all that is unnecessary. Let’s howl together, dogs and humans!
