Lana Krmelj and Filip Mramor: ALL THAT I HELD BEFORE IT GOT AWAY

17th October at 9.00 p.m., premiere
18th October at 9.00 p.m., performance with audio description*

All That I Held Before It Got Away is a performative lecture that embarks, through intimate storytelling, fragments of another time and theatrical archival material, on a journey without a clear beginning or end. Along the way, it explores how an archive attempts to preserve an ephemeral theatrical event. It sets out to bring memories, or fragments of them, back to life—to revisit moments that have already passed—in order to glimpse something greater within the fragments of one’s own life. Something so vast that we can never see it in its entirety. It is a journey through nine memories, connected by an elusive sense of contact with something that cannot be grasped. Behind each memory, a box has been left in the attic of a house. Inside it are objects that still need to be placed into context.

The project is being developed as part of Context, a support programme of Bunker that seeks to highlight the importance of the Stara mestna elektrarna – Old Power Station and to map the archives of artists who have passed through this space. The main aims of Context are to understand and explore an artist’s work as a continuous artistic practice, and thereby to situate individual works within a longer trajectory, rather than seeing them as a series of disconnected points (performances). Artists presented so far include Neja Tomšič, Mare Bulc, Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik, Lea Kukovičič, Snježana Premuš, DISKOlektiv, The Feminalz, Tomaž Grom and Toni Soprano Meneglejte.

*Tickets for blind and visually impaired people and their companions are free of charge. Reservation is required at least two days before the event. The audio description begins at 8:30 pm with an introduction to the artists and the venue. The audio description will be prepared and delivered by Sara Horžen.
