(Im)perception

Who am I in the eyes of others? Who do I want them to see? And what remains when we look beyond perception? Between the image we present to the world and our inner experience lies a space filled with contradictions, longings, and surprises.
(Im)perception explores the different layers of a character: their outward presence, their self-perception, and the many versions of themselves that emerge in their relationships with others, and with themselves.
The audience experiences, what characters reveal, what they feel, and what remains unspoken between them and within them. Between self-image and the image reflected back by others, between inner experience and outward expression, a multifaceted portrait emerges of the relationships that shape us, with others and with ourselves.
(Im)perception invites us to look beyond the surface and discover the many versions of a person. And perhaps, in doing so, we won’t just recognize the characters on stage, but a part of ourselves as well.

Gerit Scholz (Tulln, Austria) is an actress and teacher in the fields of improvisational theatre and hospital clowning. Since 2008, she has been travelling throughout Europe in various constellations she co-founded or by herself, with self-developed formats and workshop offers. She also won the Austrian Theatre Sports Championships four times in a row (2022-2025), with her group “Die Dritten”. By co-organizing the Vienna Improfestival 2015-2017 and working on the workshop series “Quintessenz OASE”, Gerit was actively involved in the development of the local improv scene. Since 2017, she has been working as a hospital clown for CliniClowns Austria in various healthcare facilities and as a trainer for new clowns.
What she loves about improv is that it can lure people out of their comfort zone playfully, often resulting in shared emotions which can lead to more trust in oneself, the group and the moment. In her workshops she always looks for open playfulness and curiosity in the participants.

Anne Rab lived and worked as an actor, director, and theatre educator since 2010 in Leipzig, Germany. She is part of the leading team for ‘Momenta’, the international festival for improvisation in Leipzig, and is a long-standing member of the Theaterturbine.
2017 Anne moved to Vienna, Austria, where she continues her work teaching, directing and performing regularly with the Viennese improv community. Anne also works internationally teaching and performing, as well as developing improvised formats and shows. Her interest for improvisation started over 15 years ago in an ensemble of clowns that made up stories without words, and this work drives and fascinates her to this day: exploring non-verbal improvisation and teaching bodywork to actors, improvisers, and anyone that wants to discover and learn.
She also loves to perform with her duo-partners, including: Sarah Arndtz (Heroes), Ursula Anna Baumgartner (Bemme&Melange), and Jim Libby (The Messengers), and is a passionate advocate for community awareness in the world of improv.

Goran Završnik: after three years of learning the piano he ran from music school and never came back. Then he discovered the synthesizer with lots of buttons and everything became fun again. Now, after thirty years, he’s playing with some amazing improv people, accompanying some crazy events, trying to push the right button or key at the right moment, trying not to interrupt too much the almighty improv action on the stage. The best accompanying music, they say, is music you don’t hear. But sometimes improv musicians need to be loud and sometimes they want to be number one in the show, wanting to play fast and hot as hell. From punk singer and keyboard player in a Yugoslavian Army Highschool band to the strongest (110 kg) Slovenian impro theatre music maker. Also playing organ in Andrej Rozman Roza religion movement Zaničniki.
