GLASBARIUM Concert Cycle – CANCELLED
CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
DOUBLE CONCERT
Vasko Atanasovski, a Slovene composer and musician, prepared a new cycle of Glasbarium concerts, with a real treat taking place in the Old Power Station: a double concert evening featuring Marko Črnčec and Nino Mureškič duo, followed by Alberto Sergi with his group Arakne from Italy.
Marko Črnčec & Nino Mureškič duo: Virtuoso keys and hot skins
Marko Črnčec, one of the most renowned contemporary Slovene musicians, currently living and working in New York, and Nino Mureškič, a legendary Slovene percussionist, using also the knowledge of African drumming and Indian rhythm theory, have joined forces in a new project, presenting their original material created especially for this occasion. We are in for a mix of rhythms from around the globe with sophisticated orchestration.
Alberto Sergi & Arakne trio: Longings and passions of southern Italy
Alberto Sergi is an Italian musician, a passionate interpreter of the traditionally popular repertoire of Salento and southern Italy. The Arakne group in which he plays with Aleksander Ipavec and Zoran Majstorović, carries the popular music of southern Italy beyond its geographical and cultural borders, intertwining it with fresh, rich sound colours and shades of different musical styles. With the rhythms and melodies of serenades, Pizzica, Tammurriata, Tarantella and Stornelli, they want to express in a simple way one of the most ancient archetypes – love.
