Drugajanje 2024: Matea Bilosnić: Kata strofa

Kata Strofa is a performative excpert of creative process juxtaposing performance, lecture and DIY concert. It explores hybrid artistic expression and plays with the very notion of performance itself, inviting introspection.
How do we make decisions? What questions should we ask?
The piece delves into topics like information overload, decision-making dynamics, and personal self-expectations. By employing repetition in langauge and action, constructing and posing questions, crafting a soundscape, and utilizing choreography as a binding element, Matea strives to create a unique multidisciplinary universe exposing the struggle of making a choice.

Matea Bilosnić (Zadar, Croatia) is a choreographer, dancer and multimedia artist. She began her dance education in the Zadar Dance Ensemble in Croatia, with which she still collaborates today as a choreographer, performer, videographer and organizer. She worked as a performer in the dance company En Knap Group, Slovenia (2017-2019) where she collaborated with Joseph Nadja, Kathleen Fischer (Trisha Brown dance company), Guy Nader & Maria Campos. With the Zadar Dance Ensemble, she created Gozd-danse macabre (2019), for which she won the Croatian Theater Award in the category of best choreography in 2020. In the same year, she did a solo performance called Klown, for which she created the music, choreography and lyrics. In addition to theater and dance, Matea is interested in music and video production.

The residency was realized in cooperation with Pogon – the Zagreb Center for Independent Culture and Youth.
