Dragana Alfirević: COME CLOSER
(and watch with your eyes open or closed)
What is it in us that dances as we dance? What is it in us that watches as we watch?
We know that we feel even before feeling. We surrender to a grid of feelings that is being woven between ourselves and yourselves; we stay away from the temptation of believing that we know what we are doing. Although everything is in the now and here, the sense of touch – a gaze in its own right – opens for us the gates of time once passed before our eyes, time that vanished into thin air under our fingertips. We translate the bygone into the emerging, while allowing the emerging to fade into the past. Linear time scatters into a swarm of concurrent moments; you either get hold of it or let it flow – both is equally good.
Everything is equally good at any moment if you ask yourself who is it that dances you. Probably not some invisible mover that set the entire universe in motion, but rather a thick veil between us that some call gravity, others call it magic or love. We dare to watch it, although it is invisible. We dare to stay with it although it holds no promises of a new story. We don’t build any memory strongholds in ourselves. We remain alive and supple for each other.
without looking you move wind
you need no sun you need no food you break no trees
in suppleness
as an intermediate I care not about time
merely about each moment hugging all the other ones
