DJing = Passion + Knowledge

DJ Borka and DJ Bakto are highly experienced and renowned DJs with a unique style, extensive knowledge, and a true passion for good music. In this two-day workshop, they will introduce participants to the basic techniques of DJing and shed light on various interesting aspects of this cultural phenomenon, which is often misunderstood.

Participants will get a quick overview of the history, diverse cultural scenes, and specific genres such as hip-hop, breakbeat, and drum and bass. They will explore DJing—rooted in music styles like dub and hip-hop—through a fun and interactive approach.

The workshop will be divided into two parts. The first will be an introductory, more theoretical session, where participants will learn about DJ equipment, including turntables, mixers, modern digital software, and classic vinyl records. The second part will be hands-on, covering essential DJ techniques such as mixing, scratching, layering two records, and transitioning between them. Participants will also get to experiment with vinyl manipulation—scratching, beat juggling, and mixing.

On the final day of the Drugajanje festival, the workshop will conclude with a public presentation. Invite your friends and show off your skills!
