Lutke Festival: Divadlo DRAK: Mount St. Gumboot
Somewhere on a playful island rises Mount St. Gumboot: an unusual and whimsical landscape inhabited by eccentric creatures, wandering ideas, falling stars and boundless imagination. Inspired by graphic poetry, nonsense literature, surrealism and visual art, this non-narrative performance invites the youngest audience into a gentle theatrical world where curiosity and sensory discovery take centre stage.
Ideas escape from buckets, silence becomes an event in itself, and everyday logic gives way to playful absurdity. The inhabitants of this miniature island welcome the audience into a world without judgement, where imagination flows freely and small details become magical discoveries. The performance combines set design, live music, visual poetry and humour into a sensitive theatrical experience, designed especially for little ones. Mount St. Gumboot celebrates wonder, presence and the joy of discovering the world together.
Based in Hradec Králové, Divadlo Drak is internationally renowned for combining Czech puppetry traditions with auteur theatre, experimentation and visual innovation. Its productions explore new theatrical languages whilst remaining accessible to audiences of all ages.
