Direction B: Presentation
Direction B is an educational-workshop program for the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television students in the field of devised theatre. It was created at the initiative of Branko Jordan and Bunker, and the inspiration for the format and name comes from Edvard Ravnikar and B-direction, which generated a short-lived but resonant and influential program with a dramatic experiment of a parallel alternative to the study of architecture.
The introduction to joint research, education and creation of students and the two mentors was the experience of the Mladi Levi festival last August – shared experiences, reflection, meetings with artists. This was followed by weekend workshops led by various collectives that create devised theatre (Beton Ltd. resigning, Narobov – Alenka Marinič and Maja Lapajne Dekleva, Heroja and Tatovi podob) and an accompanying mentoring process, where students from all Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television majors created their materials and continued to develop the methodologies of creative theater and tested non-hierarchical collective work. The closing event on March 9 in the Old Power Station will be a presentation of a part of the resulting materials, which were created under the umbrella theme of “borders”.
Mentors: Tjaša Črnigoj, Tery Žeželj
