City of Women: Zavod Sploh & Better Live & City of Women & Defonija

The event, featuring five renowned and diverse musicians, was co-organized by Zavod Sploh, the concert series Defonija, and the City of Women festival. The evening will include two concerts—one more experimental and improvisational, the other more traditional and compositional. As part of the sustainable Better Live tour, German saxophonist Edith Steyer and Italian guitarist Francesca Naibo are invited to perform together for the first time. In a trio of free improvisation, they will be joined by local violinist Ana Kravanja. The second concert will feature a duet between Italian guitarist Anna Garano and Armenian singer Anaïs Alexandre Tekerian, who lives in the USA. Together, they will present Armenian songs infused with a flavor of flamenco.

Better Live is co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and is part of the Razsrediščenja concert series by Zavod Sploh. Better Live is an international project running until August 2026, advocating for the sustainable circulation of musicians across Europe — taking into account economic, social, and environmental aspects.
