Audience Council – discussion after performance Nowhere Like Here by Francesco Scavetta

Home – an eternal theme that, in our precarious present, feels particularly relevant and problematic. From which perspective and by what means does Home Sweet Home address it? Is “home” conceived in a concrete way, as a specific space, or in an abstract–metaphorical sense, as a feeling of nostalgia or a relationship of closeness and distance? How is space used? Is the choreography sufficiently readable, or do we lose the through-line due to the fragmented dramaturgy and the multiplicity of layers?
How is speech used in the performance: does it attempt to convey a (political) message, does it underscore movement, or does it distract our attention entirely? Is the use of different modes of representation—including video and miniatures—meaningfully integrated, or would a more minimalist approach with fewer devices be preferable?
We will discuss all this and more at the Audience Assembly after the performance Home Sweet Home, led by philosopher and performing arts critic Jaka Bombač.
