GREENSTAGE: EXAMPLES OF BEST PRACTICES FROM EUROPEAN THEATRES

Supported by the European Union, the project Greenstage brings together theatres and festivals from various European countries that are exploring and implementing new tools for more sustainable operations in culture and the arts. At this table, three partner theatres will present their best practices: The Latvian National Theater in Riga has designed sustainability guidelines for set and costume designers and developed a digital solution for managing and storing sets, costumes, and props.

Theater Oberhausen from Germany will present ways in which different theatre departments can collaborate to create productions based on the “zero waste” principle. The Volkstheater in Vienna will present the Material Flow tool and its application in planning and executing theatre productions according to “zero waste” principles.

Hosts: Zane Gāle & Rihards Gāle, National Theatre of Latvia (LV), Christiana van Osenbrüggen & Jonas Weber, Theater Oberhausen (DE), Alexander Matthias Kosnopfl & Hannes Leiter, Volkstheater Wien (AT)
