Mladi levi: TECHNOBURLESQUE THE IMAGE SNATCHERS

The Image Snatchers have been stealing and appropriating images of the society, subverting them, cutting and pasting them into new visual syntaxes since 2013. During this time, they have become one of the most recognisable collectives on the performance scene, cultivating generations of loyal audiences and new snatchers, collecting awards and occupying various venues and contexts. Their entities know all the rules of society, from gender to hierarchical structures – not to describe themselves with them, but to laughingly grind them into dust. No, not dust, glitter!
We will celebrate the 100th performance with Image Snatchers. It is only fitting (and fair!) to mark this anniversary in grand style – by joining forces with Emanat, the producer of Image Snatchers, the Mladinsko Theatre, Image Snatchers’ second home base in recent years, and the Mladi Levi festival, who are proud to have hosted one of the first festival appearances of the technoburlesque back in 2014, and have an unwavering love and respect for the Snatchers! However, as Image Snatchers are bursting with the creative output of iconic performances, as well as the potential of ever new artists, we will generously treat ourselves to not just one, but two nights – oldies goldies on the 99th performance to reminisce, and the future is bright on the 100th performance, to yearn for more and to send a message that Image Snatchers are timeless and eternal!
