Danijela Zajc: ETUDE FOR PREPARED PIANO AND ROPE

In her contemporary circus performance, the author explores the interaction between the prepared piano and classical acrobatics on aerial rope. The movement is converted into rope undulation, which in turn is translated to sound waves of different frequencies and amplitudes, creating an interaction open to unpredictable situations. How do our bodies and emotions react to the environment and social reality? To what extent can we replicate or change it? Are we in constant pursuit of balance? Danijela Zajc: “Everything in this world is interconnected, influencing each other, and co-existing with each other. I came to the idea for this piece while working at Cirkusarna Naokrog, in the dilapidated Autonomous Factory Rog, where I found and prepared an abandoned piano. I dedicate this piece to the Autonomous Factory Rog.”

In the post-pandemic world, the little man is completely lost, so it is necessary to find a new balance of power, focusing on human virtues, values, skills, abilities, imagination, body, mind, and heart. This section will focus on Slovenian circus artists, with happening being concentrated in the Old Power Station – Elektro Ljubljana. ”
