The third part of the DREAMS trilogy (2019–2021) is a synthesis project entitled ARCHITECTURE OF DREAMS, III., a dance performance that will be premiered on 28 October 2021 at 8 p.m. at the Old Power Station – Elektro Ljubljana.
The performance Sleep | forms, landscapes, creatures (2019, SMEEL) and a performance for children and adults The Slumberland (2020, Španski Borci Cultural Centre) were already realized as part of the trilogy. This time, with references to a wide iconographic field of depictions from sleep from the Old and New Testaments and based on reference texts (J. Le Goff, G. Bachelard), the project relates to the field of geometry and architecture. The motif, which is real both in terms of the forms as well as the movements of the protagonists (arcade) on stage is at the same time the mental space of the key project or text by Walter Benjamin entitled Arcades Project (Das Passsagen-Werk). The performance deals with the architecture of dreams in relation to the library (Library of Alexandria – configurations of spaces in time) and language (Tower of Babel – the opening of space upwards) with references from the works of A. Manguelo and Umberto Eco in terms of analysis of our imaginary worlds.
