Mala Kline (1977) is a performer and choreographer. She as learned her professional skills from a number of courses and workshops for dancers and performers, with people like Joseph Nadj, Jordi Cortes Molina, Vera Mantero, Mark Tompkins, Lloyd Newson, Meg Stuart, Jan Fabre, among others, and attended the workshops of Jerzy Grotowski, Thomas Richards and StemWerk, at the Workcenter.

Mala performed in Iztok Kovač’s productions Sting and String – first touch, Codes of Cobra and in his films Vertigo Bird and Dom Svobode. Mala Kline has also worked in productions of Wim Vandekeybus InAsMuchAsLifeIsBorrowed and recently Spiegel. In the years 2001-06 Mala collaborated in En-Knap’s Dance Laboratory.

She was a co-founder and a co-programmer (2003-06) of Agon – educational and research program for dance and co-director of Cimet – project for mobility of young dancers in Central Europe in 2004.

Mala Kline is the co-founder and from 2004-06 was the co-editor of Prehodi, which publishes books on dance, as related to other arts and theatre practices. In 2005 she received the awards Zlata ptica, and Povodni mož. In 2007 she participated in the project Sites of Imagination in the frame of which she created the performance DÉBUT – In memory of coming.

Currently Mala Kline is finishing her studies in Philosophy and Comparative Literature at the Univeristy of Ljubljana and is working on a new creation, which will premiere in 2009.
